Panchayat Season 4 Review.
In its latest chapter, Panchayat trades its quiet charm for political chaos. What once felt like a gentle breeze of village life now rumbles with the noise of elections and power struggles. The bottle gourd (lauki) becomes Manju Devi election symbol while Kranti Devi rallies her campaign behind a pressure cooker quirky choices that hint at the show earlier whimsical brilliance. But beneath the surface the narrative simmers too long turning what could have been another heartwarming season into a somewhat muddled dish.
Picking up from the cliffhanger of Season 3 where violence marred the lead-up to the upcoming panchayat elections Season 4 dives deeper into the rivalry between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi. Instead of warmth and lightheartedness Phulera is now gripped by tension gossip and political chess moves. The show once built on simplicity and rooted in real human stories now feels heavier with ambition and not always in the best way.
Jitendra Kumar Abhishek Tripathi Sachivji finds himself increasingly sidelined by the broader chaos. His once central journey of reluctant adaptation is now caught in the crossfire of political ambition. Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta continue to deliver nuanced performances, but their dynamics are now driven more by votes than values. The once loved trio of Vikas Prahlad and Sachivji still share moments of camaraderie but those moments feel fewer and farther between.
While the series attempts to scale up with longer episodes deeper rivalries and a growing cast it sometimes loses the essence that made it special its honesty humor and human core. Yes politics in villages is real and relevant but when it overwhelms the soul of the story the magic begins to fade.
Panchayat Season 4 is still engaging in parts powered by solid performances and grounded writing. But in chasing larger narrative it forgets the little things the quiet emotional moments that once made Phulera feel like home.
