The film’s opening day numbers have also outshined Vijay’s previous first-day records beating Liger’s ₹24.20 crore debut, Kushi’s ₹25.85 crore opening, and The Family Star’s ₹12 crore start.
What’s more impressive? Kingdom came close to matching Nandamuri Balakrishna’s blockbuster opening of ₹41.20 crore for Daaku Maharaaj, placing Vijay firmly back in the box office race with his biggest opener to date.
